NS Records
What are NS records? Why are they fundamental for your website?
The NS (Name Server) records of a domain point out which DNS servers are authoritative for its zone. In simple terms, the zone is the range of all records for the domain address, so when you open a URL within a web browser, your laptop or computer asks the DNS servers globally where the domain address is hosted and from which servers the DNS records for the domain name should be retrieved. This way a browser finds out what the A or AAAA record of the domain is so that the latter is mapped to an IP and the site content is requested from the proper location, a mail relay server finds out which server takes care of the e-mails for the domain (MX record) so that a message can be delivered to the appropriate mailbox, and so forth. Any change of these sub-records is conducted through the company whose name servers are used, so that you can keep the web hosting and switch only your email provider for instance. Each domain address has no less than two NS records - primary and secondary, which start with a prefix such as NS or DNS.

NS Records in Cloud Web Hosting
The innovative Hepsia Control Panel, offered with with our cloud web hosting plans, will permit you to deal with the name servers of any domain name registered through our company with only a few clicks, so even though you may haven't had a hosting plan or a domain name before, you'll not encounter any troubles. The Domain Manager tool, which is a part of Hepsia, has a very user-friendly interface and it will enable you to edit the NS records of any domain or even a number of domain addresses all at once. In addition we offer you the opportunity to set up child name servers dns1.your-domain.com and dns2.your-domain.com for each and every domain registered within the account just as easily and all you need for that is a pair of IP addresses - either ours, if you'll use the child NS to direct the domain name to the account on our cloud platform, or the ones of the third-party provider if you'll use the new records to point the domain name to their system. Unlike other companies, we do not charge extra for providing this additional DNS management service.
- NS Records in Semi-dedicated Servers
The name servers for each and every domain name that's registered through us may be changed with no more than a few clicks from the leading-edge, although easy-to-use Hepsia Control Panel that comes with all semi-dedicated server plans. It's just as easy to see the current NS records for a specific domain name and to verify if they're the ones that are required for the domain to be forwarded to your hosting account. The Domain Manager tool, which is a part of Hepsia, is user-friendly enough to allow you to control any domain easily even if you have never dealt with such matters before. If you'd like, you can also register private name servers ns1.your-domain.com and ns2.your-domain.com and use them not only for the domain address under which they are created, but also for any other domain name that you would like to host inside the exact same account. This option is very beneficial when you have clients of your own and you would like their websites to use your own name servers instead of our default ones. The service is available absolutely free. - NS Records in Semi-dedicated Servers
